One-day conference on campus, June 15, 2012
Register now as space is limited. Registration closes June 1.
Admission into selective colleges is highly competitive. The DAA’s Alumni Admissions Forum provides valuable information about the admissions process to guide parents and students.
Guiding your family toward college admission
Applying to college can be exciting – and exhausting and stressful – for students and parents alike. If you have a rising 10th-, 11th- or 12th-grade student in your family, we want to help you learn about the college selection and application process – both at Duke and at other colleges you may want to consider. We've gathered distinguished faculty and presenters to share their expertise exclusively with our alumni families.
We'll help you learn the best ways to prepare for college, how to decide what college is right for you, and how to maximize your chance of admission. You'll learn about the importance of essays and get tips for making yours great. We'll discuss standardized tests and other credentials colleges consider. And we'll help you learn how to estimate the cost of and pay for higher education.
This is a good time for you and your child to start thinking about your child’s college opportunities. The Alumni Admissions Forum will help you kick off the undergraduate admissions process. We offer this conference as a service to Duke alumni and their children. We know you’ll find it useful, regardless of your student’s intention to apply to Duke. Participation in the forum will not affect or influence a student’s application to Duke.
If you will be in town on Thursday, June 14, please join us for an optional tour of West Campus and an informal reception.
